Alexis Renard, who has racked up numerous podium finishes, claimed victory at the Tour de Vendée by showcasing his power and mastery. This is his first victory as a professional—a well-deserved reward for his impeccable attitude and daily hard work. He also secured Cofidis’s 16th victory of the season.

He had certainly earned it. Throughout the year, Alexis Renard has consistently finished among the leading riders. The Breton has collected a string of top-10 finishes, as well as runner-up spots at the Tro Bro-Léon, the Tour de Hongrie (twice) and even in China at the Tour of Qinghai. Consistent throughout the season, he has been equally impressive in recent days: ninth at the Grand Prix d’Isbergues, sixth at Paris-Chauny and seventh at the Cholet Agglo Tour yesterday.

And the day after Jenthe Biermans’ victory, the Cofidis team once again worked together to fight for the win. After controlling the race well, two riders found themselves at the front in the closing stages: Bryan Coquard and Alexis Renard. Alexis waited for the right moment to launch his attack. Sharp and decisive, it enabled him to get the better of his rivals and take the win. Bryan Coquard was not far behind either, finishing seventh and strengthening his second place in the overall FDJ United Series standings.

Alexis, meanwhile, was able to celebrate and savour the moment with his team-mates. He gave Cofidis a second victory in two days following Jenthe Biermans’ success at the Cholet Agglo Tour. Alexis Renard also became the ninth rider in the squad to raise his arms in victory, another illustration of the quality and talent within the team. Cofidis now have 16 wins in 2026. There are still two weeks of racing to continue shining.

Reactions

Alexis Renard:

“Normally, I was supposed to lead Bryan out again today, but when I wanted to launch him, I saw the 200-metre mark, so I went for it! We had high ambitions with the team this weekend. It’s obviously something very special; it’s my first professional victory, so I’m really going to savour it. It was a very tough race, but we managed to keep our cool right until the end.”

Evaldas Siskevicius:

“We’re having an incredible weekend. Two wins in two days is really fantastic! We’re very happy for Alexis, who deserved this win so much. Just like yesterday, the team rode really well. There were a lot of attacks from the start, but the riders managed to anticipate the moves and stick to the strategy. Everyone did an enormous amount of work right through to the sprint. I’m very happy for them. This kind of weekend is really fantastic. I hope we can keep it going until the end of the season!”
