After a thrilling classic, the team placed two riders in the top 10, with Nadia Quagliotto (5th) and Victoire Berteau (6th). A strong team performance that confirms the excellent form of our two leaders.
Ribinoù, Act II. One day after a promising first race in Finistère, our women’s team lined up for the Pointe du Raz Ladies Classic this Sunday. But there was no time for our riders to take in the spectacular views, as the objective was clear: this time, they couldn’t afford to get caught out. So rather than simply following the pace set by the favourite teams, the squad decided to take the race into its own hands.
Nikola Noskova got the message, taking matters into her own hands and launching a solo raid. But behind, the big names in the peloton upped the pace and eventually caught our Czech climber after a few kilometres out front. Along the Atlantic coast, the gravel roads came one after another, but the pace never let up. Three riders still managed to go clear. Nadia Quagliotto, Victoire Berteau and Ema Comte remained in the favourites’ group, 1’20 behind the leading trio.
The race exploded completely in the final 30 kilometres, as the laps — and therefore the difficulties — came thick and fast. Our northern leader and Italian puncheur were still in the mix until a crash involving Kerbaol and Van Dam completely disrupted the favourites’ group. Neither of our two riders went down, but they found themselves in a chasing group. Up front, three riders managed to build a lead of around 30 seconds. As the ribinoù came thick and fast, the chasing group gained and lost riders. Victoire Berteau and Nadia Quagliotto remained in the mix and played an active role in the chase.
The final kilometres were absolutely thrilling. The leading duo of Blasi and Géry were caught just metres from the finish after a frantic chase. In the sprint, Nadia finished 5th, with Victoire right behind her in 6th. Two more strong results that bode well for the final month of racing.

“Early in the race, the girls did a great job. We had riders in every important group, where it was crucial to have someone up front. On the final circuit, we still had Nadia (Quagliotto) and Victoire (Berteau) in the mix, and they both put in a strong performance.
Unfortunately, they were both slightly held up by a crash that caused a split in the group. They found themselves with a gap to close and therefore a little out of sync. But they handled it well, and we came away with two strong results, behind riders who were very strong today.
It was a really solid performance, especially given the unusual course today, with very rough and challenging gravel roads.”
