Stage 17 of the Tour de France remained up in the air for a long time. After 174.7 km, a large breakaway group of more than 40 riders battled it out for the win in Voiron. Hugo Page finished in 11th place.
The pace never really “slowed down”—a buzzword used to describe the breakneck speed of cycling that we witness almost every day on the roads of the Tour de France. Between Chambéry and Voiron, the route of the Tour’s 17th stage, we waited a very long time before the day’s breakaway finally took shape. In the end, a group of more than 40 riders found themselves at the front. At the finish, the small-group sprint went in favor of Jasper Philipsen. As for our riders from the North, Hugo Page took 11th place after giving it his all right up to the finish line. The famous Top 11.

Hugo Page: "The start was very tough; I had to hang on. After that, it was all about tactics. I managed to break away again, but always at the wrong moment. I managed to catch up with a few guys in the Van Der Poel group, then the Pedersen group, and finally the lead group. I didn’t have the legs to achieve a better result, but I’m happy with the race I rode. In the third week, it’s great to be in the mix like this, and it bodes well for Paris. I have no regrets because I gave it everything I had."
