At 27, the Breton rider, who joined Cofidis in 2022, is one of the team's key players. A major member of the group in one-day races, and very comfortable in sprints, he is one of our key riders for success. His consistency throughout this season is the best example of this. Having extended his contract for two years (2027 and 2028), he doesn't intend to stop there!
Throughout the season, Alexis Renard has lived up to his ambitions. Although he did not take a victory in 2026, he came agonisingly close on several occasions. Notably, he finished runner-up at the Tro Bro Léon and again on Stage 5 of the Tour de Hongrie. He also collected a string of top-10 finishes in Belgian one-day races, placing ninth at Omloop Nieuwsblad, eighth at the Bredene Koksijde Classic, sixth at the Grand Prix Criquielion and fifth at the Antwerp Port Epic.
Beyond the results, Alexis stands out for his attitude and his unwavering determination to fight for victory at every opportunity. Over the years at Cofidis, he has become a central figure within the team—serious and professional when required, while never losing his sense of humour. The Breton is currently competing in his fifth season with Cofidis and can look to the future with confidence, driven by the same ambition as ever: to raise his arms in victory and proudly represent his colours.
Quotes
Alexis Renard :
“I’m delighted to continue my journey with Team Cofidis. I feel very much at home in this team, and I’ve really appreciated the energy that has been brought in this year as well as the positive momentum we’re currently enjoying. Although the season is still a long way from being over, I’m pleased to have found greater consistency and to have delivered some strong results over the past few months. I’ve been with the team for five years now, so I can safely say I know the place well! In any case, it gives me even more motivation to keep giving everything, to aim for strong results and not rule out victory as a goal.”
Raphaël Jeune, General Manager:
“Alexis is now a key member of the team. He’s exemplary in every way, always giving his all. Alexis has proven throughout this season that we can count on him, especially during a crazy month of May. In July, he’ll be one of our leaders for the races in China. He’s a valuable rider, both for the mentality he displays in all circumstances and for the atmosphere he brings to the team. We want to do everything we can to help him progress further and finally taste victory. I’m sure he’s capable of reaching the top in the most prestigious Classics and that he can regularly raise his arms in victory. And I know he’ll be able to take on the role of captain in the Classics with great skill in the future.”
