The 28-year-old Belgian cyclist is one of the Cofidis team’s most reliable riders. Having joined the team last season, the Namur-born rider continues to go from strength to strength and dreams of raising his arms in victory once again.
It is in Cofidis colours that Sylvain Moniquet will continue his professional career. And it was in the same jersey that he claimed his maiden victory. In August 2025, the Belgian rider took an impressive win on Stage 2 of the Tour du Limousin, a fitting reward for one of the peloton’s most diligent and hard-working competitors.
Moniquet also delivered a string of strong performances throughout the season, finishing fifth on a stage of the Tour of Catalonia, sixth at the Classic Grand Besançon Doubs and fifth overall at the Tour de l’Ain. This year, he has continued to show his consistency, notably securing a place inside the top 20 of the general classification at the Tour of Hungary.
Currently racing at La Route d’Occitanie, Moniquet has now extended his stay with Cofidis. After two promising seasons with the team, he will remain part of the squad through to the end of the 2028 campaign, having signed on for 2027 and 2028. Determined to keep progressing, the Belgian climber will be aiming to add more strong results to his palmarès — and, of course, return to the top step of the podium once again.
Sylvain Moniquet:
“I’m very pleased to extend my contract with the team. I feel very much at home at Cofidis. It’s really rewarding to feel the confidence that has been placed in me. I already felt that I had taken a step forward last season, and my victory last summer was a strong reflection of that progress. I’d like to thank Raphaël Jeune, as well as all the staff and my team-mates, who contribute to the positive atmosphere within the team. It feels as though I’ve been here for quite a long time already. I’m delighted that the journey will continue and that we can all work together towards achieving more victories in the future!”
