The Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is heading into its final stretch with three mountain stages to conclude the race. Team Cofidis was on the offensive during this sixth stage.

The route climbs in the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The race’s final three stages will feature significant elevation gain. This doesn’t faze our Cofidis riders. On Friday, June 12, 2026, during the 6th stage between Saint-Vulbas and Crest-Voland, three of them were at the front of a large group of 60 riders that held a lead of over 4 minutes on the peloton. In the breakaway, Bryan Coquard, Louis Rouland, and Sam Maisonobe flew the northern colors high. Very consistent right to the end, Sam Maisonobe finished in 11th place and moved up to 13th in the general classification.

The reaction

Bingen Fernandez, sports director:
“We can be proud of our riders’ team performance today. It started off very fast, but we were determined to be part of the breakaway, and we succeeded with Bryan Coquard, Louis Rouland, and Sam Maisonobe. It was a large breakaway, but it managed to build a lead—enough to tackle the final two climbs with the certainty that it would be in contention for the win. Sam Maisonobe was very strong and consistent, battling for 5th place at the end (finishing 11th). Just as we’ve done throughout the race since the start, we’re trying to be as involved as possible, despite the high level and intense pace of this race.”
