Following Wednesday’s time trial events, our para-cycling team competed in the road races at the World Cup in Middelkerke, Belgium, on Friday, May 1. Our Cofidis riders came away with two medals and two leader’s jerseys.

The Cofidis para-cycling team’s winning streak continues. After a haul of medals in Chiang Mai in March and strong performances on Wednesday in the time trials, our riders kept up the momentum on Friday, May 1, 2026, during the road races in Middelkerke, Belgium. Arthur Bauchet took the silver medal in the C2 category, while Louis Hubert claimed bronze in the C3 category. In the World Cup standings, Eliott Pierre and Gatien Le Rousseau leave this round wearing the leader’s jersey.

The reaction

Valérie Alexandre, sports director:
"It’s the second day of competition here in Belgium at the Para-cycling World Cup with the road races. We’re fairly satisfied, even if we’re a little below what we achieved in the time trial. But the time trial remains our flagship event since it’s the one that determines selections, particularly for the Paralympic Games. We still end this day with two great medals: a silver medal for Arthur Bauchet and a bronze medal for Louis Hubert.
At the end of this second round, we also have two World Cup leader jerseys, worn respectively by Eliott Pierre in the C5 category and Gatien Le Rousseau in the C4 category. So, in the end, two World Cup leader jerseys and two podium finishes: it’s still a very good day."
