Nadia Quagliotto and Nicolas Debeaumarché are extending their time with Cofidis! Although they may not be in the spotlight, their role is nonetheless vital in helping the team shine at every race. Nadia (29) has signed up for one season and Nicolas (28) for the next two. The Italian rider and the Frenchman are therefore the first this year to extend their contracts with Cofidis, and this is anything but a coincidence. Here’s why.
These two riders skilfully embody the spirit that the Cofidis team aims to bring to every race. They are riders who give their all, who excel and who push their limits to help their teammates shine and, at times, to try their luck. Nadia Quagliotto and Nicolas Debeaumarché are therefore key figures within the team, indispensable for their mindset and determination in all circumstances. It is therefore with pride that the Cofidis team, led by general manager Raphaël Jeune, has decided that they will be the first to have their contracts extended.
Nadia, a key member of the women’s team
Nadia joined the team at the end of 2024 and quickly established herself as a key member of the women’s squad. Her smile and enthusiasm in all circumstances are just as much appreciated as her skills on the road. She also took part in the most recent Tour de France Femmes with Zwift. As a team-mate, the Italian is also capable of making her mark, as demonstrated by her podium finish in Luxembourg last year (7th in the Elsy Jacobs Festival). This season, she has distinguished herself with a particularly consistent performance at the Setmana de la Comunitat Valenciana, finishing every stage in the top 15 (she also finished 15th in the general classification).
Nicolas Debeaumarché: an incredible comeback
For Nicolas, every race is, in essence, a victory. The rider, originally from Mâcon, was involved in a violent crash in August 2024 during the Tour of Poland, in which he fractured seven vertebrae.
“In 50% of cases similar to mine, people die, and in 90% they become paralysed,”he explained at the time. Nicolas then embarked on a long rehabilitation programme and never gave up. His dedication paid off: since March 2025, he has returned to competition, contested the Giro and has passionately committed himself to giving his all for his team leaders.
His work is particularly valuable, as demonstrated by his efforts throughout the Visit South Aegean GP in Greece last February. By riding alone at the front of the peloton for much of the race, he had put Bryan Coquard in the best possible position, and Coquard went on to win brilliantly. Nicolas also enjoys putting his experience at the service of the younger riders in the team and doesn’t shy away from trying his luck at winning if the circumstances allow.
Quotes
Nadia Quagliotto:
“I’m delighted with this contract extension because it shows that the team has faith in me. I’m lucky to be able to help this young team grow, as it develops year after year. What I appreciate is that I can both support my teammates and have the chance to aim for victories. I had some good results last year and I know that helped me secure this dual role. We have a really good group and I feel very much at home here. We’re like a family and that definitely helps us perform well.”
Nicolas Debeaumarché:
“I felt a great sense of satisfaction when I found out I was extending my contract. It shows that the team values my role and my impact during races. The fact that the extension is happening so early in the season is a real sign of things to come. It allows me to close a chapter, a period that has been very stressful for me since my accident. I really appreciate the role I have in the team. I’m both a team-mate and, increasingly, a road captain thanks to my experience. I like knowing that this role isn’t just on the bike but also off it, alongside my team-mates. I’d like to warmly thank the staff and Raphaël for continuing this wonderful adventure.”
Raphaël Jeune, general manager:
“It’s a real pleasure to announce the renewal of Nadia and Nicolas’s contracts so early on. Nadia is a key member of the women’s team. She plays a crucial role because she races with great precision and commitment. Off the track, she’s a very cheerful person who always brings a smile to everyone’s face. As for Nicolas, he’s a pillar of the team, a tireless worker behind the scenes who is essential to the group. In every race, he gives 100 per cent, always putting his expertise and knowledge of the terrain at the service of the team. The contract extensions for Nadia and Nicolas are a good sign for the whole team: they will help to give even more confidence to all our riders.”
