The Cofidis team secured a spot in the Top 10 at Danilith Nokere Koerse with Jenthe Biermans following a tense finish.

The Flanders cobbles are always full of surprises. While the start of the race followed a classic script, the 80th edition of Danilith Nokere Koerse nearly saw an unexpected finish on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Launching a solo breakaway in the final stretch of the race, Segaert (Bahrain - Victorious) held off the peloton’s comeback until the final 100 meters to the finish line. The Cofidis team, for its part, remained attentive and disciplined throughout the day. Jenthe Biermans secured 7th place and continues to perform well after his 4th-place finish at the Ename Samyn Classic earlier this month.

The reaction

Sébastien Demarbaix, sports director: "We started the race with the intention of going for the sprint with two riders: Jenthe Biermens and Hugo Page. Jenthe was supposed to have Stanislaw Aniolkowski’s support, but unfortunately, we lost Stanislaw to a flat tire 10 km from the finish. We didn’t change our plans because that would have thrown everything off just a few kilometers from the finish. Jenthe finished 7th. With a little help, he could have moved up a spot or two, but we have to be realistic—I think it would have been difficult to do better than 5th today. Still, we can be happy with this 7th-place finish. The young riders did a good job during the race. They did what they could. The race was easy in the first part because it was controlled by Alpecin-Premier Tech with a breakaway that was easy to manage. Everyone came into the final stretch with plenty of energy, and there was a lot of tension, as usual. The goal was to get closer to the podium and secure a Top 10 finish with our second rider. We finished 7th and 15th. It’s a bit below what we were hoping for, but for me, the guys’ attitude and work were perfect today."
