Faced with brutal weather conditions, the route was once again modified this morning, with a 13:45 start for just 47 kilometres towards Isola-Village.

Exceptional conditions called for an exceptional race. In freezing cold, Bryan Coquard finished 11th in the sprint in Isola. A solid performance in conditions that tested every rider in the peloton. Ion Izagirre also finished in the front group and retains 7th place in the general classification, ahead of tomorrow's final stage in Nice.

Quotes of the day :

Bryan Coquard : « We were in a waiting game before the race, we didn't know until the last moment whether we would start. In the end, the decision was made to race, and it turned out to be a 50 km race, which feels strange. Today I wasn't feeling good, my legs weren't responding, and with the cold I tried to do what I could with what I had. Tomorrow the weather will be better and Ion is still 7th overall, that's our last battle. We'll do everything we can to support him for as long as possible and try to finish on a high. »

Benjamin Thomas : « It's not the first time we've experienced stages modified like this, but we were really at the limit of what we could endure. It was extremely cold on the bike, and in the last 10-15 kilometres, everyone was completely frozen. Fortunately, the stage was short, which allowed us to get straight onto the bus after the finish, because the real risk is getting sick while waiting outside. We managed to limit the damage. Personally, my legs were shot after yesterday's efforts and I wasn't able to come back in the final. Bryan tried to dig deep regardless. It was a tough day where we paid the price for yesterday's efforts. »

Bingen Fernandez, Sports Director : « The stage was shortened for weather and safety reasons, and it was the right call. Bryan Coquard didn't have his best legs today but he still contested the sprint and finished 11th. On such a difficult stage, the most important thing is that we came through without any damage, there were a few crashes in the peloton, but we managed to avoid them. Ion Izagirre came in with the front group and holds on to 7th place overall. »
