The team headed to the Boucles Drôme-Ardèche for two challenging races on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1, 2026. First stage of the Faun Ardèche Classic.
For this first part of the Boucles Drôme-Ardèche, the Cofidis team had to settle for places of honor with Simon Carr in 18th. Although in good form, as evidenced by his podium finish last weekend at the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes, Simon Carr fell a little too far behind the leaders when Paul Seixas blew the race apart. Tomorrow, the northerners will have another card to play with Alex Aranburu, who will find the Faun Drôme Classic a course tailored to his qualities.
The reaction
Benjamin Giraud, DS: "Today we finished 18th with Simon Carr. Physically, we might have been able to do a little better, but tactically we weren't able to get into a better position when the race really got going, on the hill where Seixas blew everyone away. We were a little too far behind. Simon ended up in a small group that was a little too far away. It was a very strong field here. Tomorrow we will have higher ambitions at the Faun Drôme Classic with Alex Aranburu, who is riding well at the moment. We will build our race around him."
