The northern-based team is proud to announce the arrival of this young climber. At 22 years old, Edoardo, the current U23 Italian champion, is a particularly talented rider who shines whenever the road starts to climb. Having signed a two-year contract, he is Cofidis’s final recruit of the off-season, highlighting the team’s commitment to entering a new era starting next season.

A wave of youth and enthusiasm is sweeping through Team Cofidis. After announcing the signing of French prospect Camille Charret, the northern-based team is unveiling the arrival of another young talent: Edoardo Zamperini. Born in the Venice region, he is part of the new generation of Italian riders. At 22, Edoardo notably made his mark by winning the U23 National Championship. Last season, he continued his development with the Arkéa – B&B Hôtels Continental Team. Closely followed by one of our sports directors, Roberto Damiani, Edoardo was convinced to join after promising discussions with new general manager Raphaël Jeune.

Edoardo describes himself as a puncher-climber, with a taste for “hilly races, tough races, and medium mountains.” He aims to keep progressing while supporting his leaders next year. But he’s not ruling anything out, saying he “hopes to seize his chance and go for victories as early as 2027.” Edoardo is the final signing of Cofidis’s off-season, becoming the 30th rider to complete the team’s roster. From now on, the riders and staff will work tirelessly to approach the upcoming season with focus and determination.

THEY SAID

Edoardo Zamperini: “I’m very excited to be joining Cofidis. It’s one of the most well-known and strongest teams in the world. Having raced with a French team before, I’m familiar with their way of working, their methods, and their ability to support the development of young riders. I enjoy hilly races, tough races, and medium mountain stages as well… I want to dedicate myself to helping my teammates and continue improving next season, and I hope to seize my own opportunities and aim for victories as early as 2027. I’m really thrilled for the season to start!”

Raphaël Jeune, General Manager: “I’m very proud that we’ll be able to count on Edoardo Zamperini’s talent from next year onwards. Through his U23 championship title, he’s shown that he’s one of the most promising riders of the new generation of Italian cyclists. We’re eager to support him, help him progress, and introduce him to the top level. Edoardo’s arrival, along with that of Camille Charret, reflects our commitment to trusting young riders and building for the long term to make the Cofidis colors shine.”
