You never loose World class. Just sometimes forget how to access it:)
I think the entire cycling community wanted Cav to get the win:)))

Also seeing @FabioJakobsen back is a testament to the doctors Dag and @dirk_tenner amount others, who saved his life on scene. I know they were personally very impacted and I just wanted to send my love to all the medical staff involved in cycling.
You’re our real hero’s 🙌

I was behind that crash in Poland, and honestly, I really struggled mentally afterward whilst racing. It was horrific and very emotional.
Seeing @FabioJakobsen racing again today was beyond inspiring and already wins my vote for best rider of 2021 for showing such resilience 🙌

Twas the night before Flanders,
The Jerseys were hung by the door with care, numbered and ready
In hopes that Kwaremont soon would be there;
The riders were nestled all snug in their beds;
With visions of eternal victory danced in their heads;

Let’s get around ‘les gars’ because they’re ready to put on a serious Le show!!!!! 💥 allez @TeamCOFIDIS https://t.co/KJuF4Cwe2F

Can we just agree that WVA and VDP are both great and start talking about how Laporte is a genuine A+++ for Flanders? So many favorites, but so little coverage. @FlandersClassic is going to be amazing! @TeamCOFIDIS

Finally back out training again 🙌 nothing pretty power wise, but at least the nature was:) @TeamCOFIDIS https://t.co/dAmuw1tWpn

It’s a calculation you can only make in the moment. If you’re feeling less than amazing, it’s your only option to be competitive in the final. If your team doesn’t have the HP, the back is the best and you choose your moments to move up. There’s benefit/risk in every approach 2/2

There’s two ways to race the entry into the first Capo’s at @Milano_Sanremo either control your space near the front = more energy/ less risk, or tail gun like @Giacomonizzolo is doing = far less energy/ bigger risk of being behind crashes. 1/2

At this stage of @Milano_Sanremo when you’ve hit the coast, the next time you get a moment to have any kind of conscious thought is after the line. It’s 100% focus and concentration from here on. Here’s where any small mistake can be final

In 2014 I was in the breakaway in @Milano_Sanremo team orders were for either @millarmind or myself to sneak in. The weather was putrid and I was thinking, wtf am I doing here. It’s one of the most vivid memories I have in cycling. I’d never do it again, but I’m so lucky I have

On a side note, if you were going to watch a bike race with no coms (sorry Matt, Brian, Dan ect) what is everybody’s preferred music to watch a bike race?

Equipment partners are a huge part of winning @Milano_Sanremo our @Michelin created a super fast compound that holds pressure for longer than others. Over 7 hours regular tires can go from 8 Barr to less than 6. Holding pressure can be the race winning difference @TeamCOFIDIS

In 2009 when Heino lost by cm’s to a fast incoming Cav, it was calculated that if he wore a speed suit he would have won. In 2010 Castelli then designed the aptly named Sanremo aero suit with pockets. In a 300km race the smallest details are the difference @Milano_Sanremo
Nathan Haas

Than any benefits from a climbing set up to push the final climbs.
Full body aero suits are the obvious choice also. Every tiny gain is amplified in this event. Tire choice is also key. Many sacrifice grip for less rolling resistance as 4w less all day= huge amount of KJ’s 2/2
Nathan Haas
20 mars 2021
Whilst the climbs are the key to winning @Milano_Sanremo complicated calculations put more emphasis on pure aerodynamics and drive train efficiency for equipment choice than any considerations on weight. Deep profile rims save you more all day 1/2

The MVP of the first 150kms of this race is the humble domestique. Sitting beside the leader in even the slightest of cross wind. Stopping with leaders during nature breaks just to bring them back, without this done properly (harder than it sounds) is the key @Milano_Sanremo
Nathan Haas
20 mars 2021
Believe it or not, right now, at 200km to go @Milano_Sanremo is won or lost right here. It looks easy on the wheel, but saving every tiny bit of energy is the art of this race.
Seeing the 200km to go sign is a physiological challenge no matter who you are. Staying calm is key
