The third week of the Tour de France began on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. A 26.1-km time trial awaited the entire peloton.

It’s never an easy task, especially coming off a rest day. On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the Tour de France peloton kicked off the race’s third week with a 26.1-km individual time trial between Evian-les-Bains and Thonon-les-Bains. Along the shores of Lake Geneva, heart rates soared and the race got back into full swing. The riders are ready to tackle the final stretch of the Tour de France and the new opportunities it brings. Tomorrow, on the shores of another lake—Lake Bourget—where the 17th stage will begin, there will be plenty of opportunities to shine. The 174.7 km between Chambéry and Voiron should treat us to a thrilling battle between sprinters dreaming of one last chance and aggressive breakaway riders.

The reaction

Sébastien Hinault, sports director: “The guys put in a solid time trial today. Everyone was really focused. We gave it our all—a breakthrough—so we can have another great stage tomorrow. We're really motivated to go for a great result.”
